Troy, located near the village of Tevfikiye in the province of Canakkale and now called "Hisarlik" is hosting to Homeros's famous Iliad and Odysseia epic. And this place is an important settlement center. In this context, Troy excavations are considered to be one of the leading figures in the archaeological work.
Troy is located on one of the major trade routes between Europe and Asia. Troy was excavated by the work initiated by H. Schliemann in 1871. This was followed by the excavations of W. Dorpfeld and C. Blegen. M. Korfmann has been continuing his excavations and restoration work since 1938.
What is the Trojan Horse?
Trojan Horse is a strategy applied to mislead the enemy in martial art and is one of the most famous stories. This horse, shown as a gift to the other side, was intended to carry Greek troops and capture the Truva.

How to Go to the Ancient City of Troy?
If you want to go by public transport you can reach the ancient city by bus or minibusses which are moving from the city center.
Truva is located in Tevfikiye Village of Çanakkale province. To reach this place known by the name of Hisarlik you have to follow the Tevfikiye sign on the Çanakkale-Ezine highway. After 5 km you will arrive at the ancient city of Troy.
